Enriching Many By Reaching All in Catholic Education

Winter 2023 Newsletter

"An education in the fullness of humanity should be the defining feature of Catholic schools."

On behalf of the Board of Directors of EMBRACE, we would like to thank those who supported our fundraiser, EMBRACE the Brew II. Through their generosity our Catholic schools will be better able to serve students with disabilities and learning differences in the Archdiocese in Kansas City in Kansas.

We were blown away by the amazing turnout, with 320 people in attendance. It was a fun evening and we were beyond thrilled to see the support of ALL students in Catholic education. Because of the generosity of so many, we were able to raise $252,000, while bringing awareness to the mission of EMBRACE.

As we move forward with our fundraising efforts, we will continue to support teachers in the Archdiocese through scholarships to receive their special education degree through Benedictine College, provide professional development opportunities for teachers and paraprofessionals, as well as provide grants for our Catholic schools in the Archdiocese to hire professionals to serve all students.

A special thank you to Archbishop Naumann for attending and leading us in prayers, to Toby Cook our Emcee, & Greg Foote our auctioneer. Again, thank you to all those who supported and/or attended our event. Your generosity is an encouraging reminder of our mission to provide the opportunity for an inclusive education by supporting children with disabilities and learning differences in their Catholic schools.

EMBRACE Special Education Scholarship

We have been honored to provide scholarships to Benedictine College for four cohorts of teachers in the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas to receive their Special Education Certification. We are excited to announce that the scholarships for Cohort 5 will be taking graduate courses in Special Education. These courses are part of a proposed Master’s degree in Special Education which is pending HLC approval. This will allow teachers to deepen their knowledge and skill set in order to serve ALL students in Catholic schools. Cohort 5 will begin in August 2024.

EMBRACE Grants

Grant season in upon us. Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese in Kansas City in Kansas who wish to apply for a grant through EMBRACE will be submitting their applications in January, 2024. An end of the year gift to EMBRACE means our schools can serve more students! Thank you for your generosity and prayers.
